A program that channels the zeitgeist of reality TV shows like “Australia’s Got Talent” and other competitive arenas where performing artists battle it out on stage for fame and fortune.

During the Salamanca Moves Festival a panel of industry experts and producers including Neta Pulvermacher, Rosemary Miller (Salamanca Arts Centre Artistic Director/ CEO), Kelly Drummond Cawthon (Festival Curator) , Lesley Graham (Dance Critic for The Mercury), and Lucinda Wilson (Ten Days on the Island) will roam Festival performances, events and popups. They will select up to 5 works for a live grand final performance on the Final Friday night of the Festival.

After a discussion with the artists and the panel the audience will then vote to select one choreographer who will take home a $5,000 award to use toward the development of their work which will be presented in the Tasmanian International Arts Festival at the Peacock Theatre in 2017.

The A.W.A.R.D. Show was created in 2005 by choreographer Neta Pulvermacher/The Neta Dance Company, Scott Kasen and producer Marisa König Beatty in response to a need for a lab-like space in which working dance artists can engage in an open dialogue with the audience about the work presented. It is dedicated to nurturing new work, discussion, exploration, creativity and the free exchange of ideas, thoughts and opinions. The A.W.A.R.D. Show is a production of the Neta Dance Company and is hosted by the Salamanca Moves Festival.
