MAKING TRACKS, HUNTING & GATHERING

by Jo Clancy

Aboriginal dance and movement is inspired and derived from everything around us. The earth, the sky, our animals and birds, stories passed down from generation to generation for tens of thousands of years. Imagine being a hunter or being hunted; how do you move without being seen, without being heard? Participants will warm-up to the rhythm of the clapsticks, make tracks across the floor and explore contemporary Aboriginal movement.

Jo Clancy is a descendant of the Wiardjuri people from the NSW Central West. She is the founder and director of the Wagana Aboriginal Dancers and has been teaching and performing for over 25yrs. Jo will be joined by Wagana Dancers Becky Chatfield and Nezmia Hay.

Open to all levels and ages.
