Lz Dunn works with performance, movement, sound, video, other people, places and participatory processes to think about ecologies, ‘nature’, queerness and ways we can live. Lz is also an Artistic Associate with Aphids. Lz grew up in regional Queensland and now lives in Melbourne. Lz’s solo and collaborative works have been presented across Australia including at the Next Wave Festival, Arts House, Performance Space, Brisbane Powerhouse, PICA, Salamanca Arts Centre, On Edge Festival, Darwin Festival, Adelaide Festival, Sydney Festival, The National Portrait Gallery, KickArts Contemporary Arts and Cairns Regional Art Gallery, with Latrobe Centre for Creative Arts, The Substation, Federation Square, Malthouse Theatre and Underbelly Arts Festival. Flyway, created with Lawrence English, for the 2012 Next Wave Festival, was nominated for a 2013 Green Room Award, was co-winner of the international Music Theatre NOW (MTN) competition (2012) and received the MTN Operadagen Rotterdam Award (2013). Flyway has been presented at Operadagen Rotterdam (2014) and Varna Summer International Theatre Festival, Bulgaria (2014), and NOA Festival in Vilnius, Lithuania (2015).
