El árbol. A árvore, is a site-specific performance embodied by a dancer and accompanied live by a percussionist. It converges three levels of representation (dramaturgic, esthetic, choreographic research) to inspect and exteriorize live, pulsation and the internal movement of the human body. Where is trust inside my body? Dónde nasce el ritmo? These are the premises that support this research.
The performer travels along creating a path which represents the structuring and maturation of the spine from its birth to verticality. Verticality is the starting point for the search of the rhythm within us. Thus the importance of the link between the body and the instrument. The ceaseless search of the rhythm which is born within each and every cell of our body and that extends to its extremities. The meeting with our internal rhythm implies movement, change and transformation.
The linguistic plurality which echoes from the performance comes from a set of experiences gained in several geographic and cultural horizons (Portugal, Australia and Puerto Rico).
